Don't Quit Your Day Job!
The best time to look for a job is when you already have one. Why? Well, think about your future life and its requirements: if you don't have a job, you might take on a lower-level position, accept less money, or enter a job that doesn't suit your career plan simply because you need to pay the rent or mortgage.

If you really hate your job, make it a priority to carve out time when you are not working to prepare, research, and network for new contacts and opportunities.

Now, think about your future employer for a minute: because you were able to complete a job search and successfully find a well-suited job for yourself while still holding down a job, your new employer will know you are a good planner, committed to providing for yourself and/or your family, and that you value yourself and your career enough to take the time and effort necessary to search out a position that will help you grow.
