Lisa spent more than 20 years climbing the career ladder in corporate America with groundbreaking career success in traditionally male-dominated companies/industries. She has completed projects around the world in the areas of strategic planning, marketing & communications, sales, service, operations, pricing, business development, pre-acquisition analysis and acquisition integration and HR/talent development. Examples of Lisa’s management positions include Executive Vice President and General Manager of Strategy Planning for a Fortune 500 healthcare corporation, Vice President of Global Service Marketing, Director of Business Development, Director of Operations, Director of Sales and General Mgr.
Lisa is the award-winning non-fiction author of “Your Career, Your Way!” and is the author of 9 Career Savvy e-books available on Kindle and Nook. She has been quoted as a career development and workplace issues expert in 150+ articles, from The Wall Street Journal to CBS Moneywatch to Time Business, has had 20 articles published and had her career development expertise included in 4 books by other authors. Lisa won the 2012 and 2010 Stevie Awards for Women in Business for “Blog of the Year“, is a career development blogger for Forbes.com and The Seattle Times and is a sought-after professional speaker/organizational trainer.
Lisa is an acclaimed pageant coach, guiding women through the nuances and complexities of pageants to stand out among the contestants and win. She is a graduate of three modeling academies and an advanced acting program, has modeled professionally (runway, print and television) as a petite model, and has competed in and won scholarships and awards in pageants at the local, state and national level. As a former competitive gymnast, bodybuilder, runner and personal trainer, Lisa is also uniquely qualified to help contestants prepare for the swimsuit/fitness portions of pageants.
Lisa’s experience climbing the corporate career ladder, her background as a certified career coach and her skills as a professional speaker give her unique insight, allowing her to teach skills (interview skills, answering impromptu questions and image management) that translate from the pageant world into her coachees’ future careers.
Education and Training
In addition to Lisa’s personal experience and background in business, career development and pageants, her education and training contributes to her unique ability to help women and companies of all sizes achieve success. Lisa earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Management/Human Resources Management (4.0 GPA), a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (4.0 GPA) and an Associate of Applied Science in Marketing (4.0 GPA). Lisa earned an executive certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from Stanford Business School, two executive certificates from the Wharton School of Business (Strategic Pricing and Leading Organizational Change) and a certificate in Fiction Writing from the University of Washington.
Lisa is also a certified Green Belt in Six Sigma Process Improvement, a Certified Executive Coach (CCE designation) and has completed more than 30 management training courses focused on three areas: Project Management, Leadership and Business Law.
Lisa’s Community Service – Women Helping Women
As Lisa climbed the proverbial career ladder into executive management in corporate America, she was surprised at how often she encountered situations where women tried to undermine her. Because of this, she created the Wing To Wing Women’s Mentoring Project where she encourages women to mentor other women and think of women as allies instead of enemies. Lisa has provided 74 free career development/mentoring seminars for women and authored a free mentoring guide. One of Lisa’s favorite quotes on this topic was when Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State, said at a women’s conference, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
